Privacy Policy

Who we are

Weekday Eats is operated by Jack Read in Ontario, Canada. This policy describes how we collect, use, share, and retain personal information when you use Weekday Eats, including through an authorized AI agent.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, identity provider identifiers, sessions, and connected-agent authorizations.
• Meal content: recipes, ingredients, instructions, recipe images, planned meals, grocery lists, list changes, and recipe link-access settings that you or your authorized agent save.
• Communications: daily-email settings, delivery status, unsubscribe status, and support messages you send us.
• Technical information: security events, pseudonymous usage events, device and request information, errors, and limited diagnostic logs needed to operate and protect the service.
• Grocery-link information: the eligible grocery items you ask us to send to Instacart, link status, clicks, and affiliate reporting made available by Instacart or Impact.

Weekday Eats does not store the surrounding AI conversation or a household preference profile. Your selected agent may process the conversation under its own terms and privacy settings.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and keep accounts separate.
• Save, retrieve, update, preview, export, and delete your meal artifacts at your request.
• Derive grocery lists from planned meals and create an Instacart link when you ask for one.
• Deliver the daily plan email when enabled and process unsubscribes.
• Prevent abuse, investigate failures, measure product reliability, and improve the service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private recipe, plan, grocery, image, or conversation content to train AI models.

AI agents and connected services

You choose whether to connect an AI agent such as ChatGPT. After you authorize it, the agent can call the Weekday Eats actions made available to it and receive the requested account data. You can revoke a connection from your account settings. Information processed by the agent is also governed by that provider's terms, privacy policy, and your provider settings.

Weekday Eats validates and stores structured recipes and other artifacts supplied by the agent. Weekday Eats does not itself run a model to generate recipes or understand images.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers to operate Weekday Eats, including WorkOS for authentication, Vercel for application and private image hosting, Neon for PostgreSQL, Resend for email, and Sentry and PostHog for limited diagnostics and product events. These providers process data for us under their own security and retention practices, which may involve processing outside Canada.

If you ask for an Instacart link, we send the eligible grocery item names and quantities, along with limited link metadata, to Instacart. Instacart owns product matching, cart review, checkout, and fulfillment. Impact and Instacart may provide affiliate reporting to us. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, the service, or others.

Recipe links

Recipes are private by default. If you enable “anyone with the link,” anyone who receives that regular recipe URL can view its current content and images without signing in. The link is unlisted and is not placed in a public catalogue, but recipients can copy or forward it. You can return the recipe to private at any time.

Security and retention

We use encrypted connections, access controls, account-scoped data access, private image storage, and content-minimized logs. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

We keep account content while your account is active. When deletion is acknowledged, access is denied immediately and live primary content is targeted for deletion within 24 hours. Content-free security records may be retained for up to 90 days, and redacted application logs for up to 30 days. Provider-controlled logs, backups, transaction records, or legal records may remain for the provider's applicable retention period.

Deleting Weekday Eats removes only your Weekday Eats data and access. If your sign-in is shared with another product from the same operator, the shared sign-in and that product's data are not deleted.

Your choices

• Review or correct saved content through the agent or web app.
• Turn off daily email or use its one-click unsubscribe link.
• Revoke a connected agent.
• Make a shared recipe private again.
• Export your account data or request account deletion.

Cookies and children

We use essential cookies for authentication and security. We do not use advertising cookies, and session replay is disabled. Weekday Eats is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
